Bath Time!
We have given our girl a few baths on her cute froggy bath mat from Melissa and Joel. It's safe to say that we enjoy the experience more than she does.
Probably the best part of bath time is getting to see all the funny faces she makes.
Since she's had a few baths I think she considers herself an expert. Towards the end of the last one, she was like, "Lay off Mom, I got this."
We went a little camera happy the other night once we got her in her hooded towel. Here are some of the best:
Lunch at Gill's
We had an amazing lunch last weekend at Gill's house in the Los Gatos hills. She made a delicious assortment of antipasti, including home-made sun-dried tomatoes, fresh cheeses, grilled veggies from the local farmer's market, and focaccia. She also made a lovely pasta and a delectable home-made chocolate cake. We ate out on her beautiful deck overlooking the water.
Everyone had a great time. As usual, Skyla slept the whole time so I was even able to indulge in a glass of white wine to go with my cheese! Yum!

A Walk Down Anniversary Lane
We took our annual trip to Capitola to relive some of the memories of our wedding. We drove up Depot Hill and reminisced about the beautiful ceremony and awesome after party. We also daydreamed about what it would be like to buy one of the many homes for sale in that neighborhood so we could always wake up to this view:
We had a great lunch at Gayle's and tried to get our favorite carrot cake -- an anniversary tradition -- but they were all out. We "settled" for German chocolate cake. Then we strolled along the boardwalk with Skyla and watched lots of families playing on the beach. I love the one of Tory and Skyla because she's holding his hand!
We would love to have a small bungalow here some day but even if we never own a place here we will keep coming with our family. Maybe some day Skyla will follow in our footsteps and get married here :-)
A visit from Nana
We were so lucky to have Tory's mom come visit us last week. Skyla was very happy to get to meet her Nana. On her first night here we took her to Gordon Biersch in downtown San Jose and ate in the lovely outside courtyard. Skyla slept like a little angel the whole time so we all got to enjoy a great meal together.
It was a great visit and we can't wait to see the whole family in April for our big trip to Disneyworld!
Block Party
Geordie and Jolene had their annual block party this weekend. We had a nice time hanging out with their neighbors. Of course I concentrated mostly on Skyla, so I missed most of the activities (including the belly dancers, who can be seen in the background of the first and last photo). Grandma reminded us multiple times that she wanted to be a belly dancer for Halloween last year but couldn't find a costume!
Some of the other festivities included balloon animals/hats and facepainting by Jolene. Everyone looks great modeling, don't you think?

Skyla and her Daddy
Since I've been taking most of the pictures so far, I have lots of Skyla with Tory (sadly not many of her with me). She loves it when he holds her:
Here's an extra special moment when he held her after her first real bath (her hooded towel is a little big for her!):
When she's awake they have lots of fun together:They love staring at each other. I love these pictures because their expressions are just priceless. In the first one they're sizing each other up. In the second one Tory is saying, "I love you so much." In the third one she's saying, "Who is this hairy person and why doesn't he have any milk for me?"
