Exploring New Orleans

We got to sleep in after the long day, but headed out on the town with my folks to get some beignets at the world-famous Cafe du Monde.  By the time we were able to get out, thought, we all really wanted lunch.  We walked around for a while and found a great place in the French Quarter that had lots of fresh seafood and one-of-a-kind Cajun goodness, including fried green tomatoes with andouille sausage!

Because the restaurant was so popular and presumably because everyone wanted a good meal before the Saints game started, lunch took forever.  Unfortunately my parents had to leave for the airport so they couldn't join us at Cafe du Monde.  Raj did meet us though and we had a grand ol' time.

It was a beautiful day, so we strolled along the Mississippi and enjoyed the scenery.

We finished the day by watching football at an outdoor bar, then headed off to the airport hotel.  We got up bright 'n' early to fly back home.  All in all it was a great trip!
