Strawberrry!

We had an AMAZING time at Strawberry with our little girl this year!  I used to go every year when I was growing up, and Tory had been two times before this year, but it was so much fun with her there. One of the best parts of going there is they have so many activities for kids of all ages.  They have a lake to swim in with a small stage nearby where they play kids music and have puppet shows, there are tents set up with all kinds of activities like painting, play-dog, and a sandbox, there is tennis, and then of course all the music!  We spent every day at the campsite or by the lake, and every evening at the main stage.  We got awesome food from the various food tents and then watched the music all together.  It was so fun!

As soon as we arrived Skyla loved it because we spent the first hour or so setting up camp (aka: doing her favorite activity, moving things from one place to another) and sitting in a Skyla-sized chair.

Skyla goes to bed pretty early even when we're camping, so we had to find ways to entertain ourselves at the campsite after dark.  On the first night we did this with everyone's favorite: S'mores.  The only bummer is they don't allow campfires but that didn't stop us!

One of the highlights of the weekend was the Sunday Revival down by the lake.  They invite some of the best bands of the weekend to play a few songs and everyone brings their chairs and blankets to enjoy the music.  If church was this amazing we would go every week!

After the revival we hit the courts for a little family tennis action.  It was our first time playing all together so it was a little tricky, but Tory and I had a lot of fun and Skyla loved running after the balls.

Another morning activity: the kids' parade!  They have all the kids wear +/or show the art they've made throughout the weekend and we walk around in a parade while music plays.  It's really cute!

And finally, swimming!  Skyla was a little timid at first, but eventually she jumped right in and started splashing away.  It was pretty cold so they didn't get all the way in, but it was fun all the same.

Last night at the camp and our little strawberry was still as happy as could be! 

We went down to the main stage one last time for some yummy food and time with Nonno.

Then we hit up one of the best-kept secrets of the camp: the teen open mic in the amphitheater.  Some of the kids were really talented and the atmosphere was just beautiful.  It was an awesome way to end a wonderful trip.
